Firmware update V52.005 for the Nokia E72 now available

The latest Nokia device to get a firmware update recently is the Nokia E72 which was updated to version V52.005 – the last update was back in September V051.018. An minor update which contains some performance enhancements and small bug fixes.

The update is currently available Over The Air (OTA) now and via the Nokia Software Updater software.

Here are some of the changes to expect in this update:

Official Changelog:

Changes in timezones

Adobe Reader updated to version 2.5.202

Default system start date changed (11/10/2010)

Clock time font changed (update after a previous firmware, v51, made it appear smaller)

Device Management fix

Keypad Autolock fix (autolock now restricted to homescreen)

Remember that although the Nokia E72 does have UDP (User Data Preservation), it is always recommended that you backup your data before you update your device with the new firmware.

If your device is not updating to the new firmware, don’t despair, as it may take some time for the new firmware to be available in your region. So once you have updated the firmware, please let us know via your comments below what your thoughts are on this new release.

I presume that your Nokia E72 is operator branded? That would not be Nokia’s fault as some operators hold back on firmwares as to change them to their individual brands. If you get any other make it will be the same issue as well if it is operator branded.

That would be a NO.

Nokia E72s are NOT carrier branded in the US. Updates are completely Nokia’s responsibility.

Just been checking with a reliable source and it seems that the update will be rolled out in the US in a matter of days. Most of Europe and Asia have received the update over the weekend already. So hang in there guys.

Hopefully problem with contacts syncs between outlook and nokia e72 is fixed.
