Foursquare hits S40 devices with a Beta version of the popular Check-In app

Over the last couple of months Foursquare users have been growing in alarming numbers as this service has become a must for many people around the globe sharing their locations, with friends and family, buy posting there shouts on popular social networks like Twitter and Facebook via their mobile devices.

Until now this location-based mobile platform was only available, for S60 and Symbian^3 devices, but from today, this all changes as Nokia Beta Labs have just released a Beta Version of the Foursquare app for S40 devices and is targeting to eventually have the final version available to Nokia users in the Ovis store, but for this to happen, NBL is seeking your feedback on the application. Especially, they are especially interested in what are the features and functionality that you would like to see and how the application works on different device models and countries.

Lets look at some of the features:

- Shout
- Check in
- Venueless check in (“check in here anyway”)
- Search places
- Add place
- Recent checkins from friends
- User info
- Manage friend requests
- And more to come… (See “More info” for roadmap)

The beta version will work on a range of S40 devices. The following devices have been tested so far by them: 5310, 6600 fold, 7230, C3-00, C3-01, X3-02
