Nokia and Flipswap’s trade in service coming soon to consumers in Europe!

On Thursday we told you about an initiative launched by Nokia in collaboration with Flipswap where you can get a trade in rebate on your old mobile on the purchase of a new Nokia device and also that this program is limited to consumers residing in the U.S. A couple of our readers in the U.S have let us know that they are taking this opportunity to upgrade to the new Nokia N8 to be released any day now. One reader is getting $134 for two old Nokia devices he has thus the N8 he has pre-ordered will only be costing him $415 in the end. Not bad at all!

Flipswap apart from giving consumers credit towards another device or cash back, they also plant a tree for every device recycled. The program has been a huge success so much that Flipswap and Nokia are now currently working at launching a similar program in Europe in the near future. Sohrob Farudiso, General Manager and Co-founder of Flipswap confirmed in an email to us today that we will be seeing some exciting offers coming up in the European market very soon!

So, if that old phone of yours still works and you want to upgrade to a brand spanking new Nokia device, hang on to it! Remember that you will be able to trade in up to 10 old devices on each purchase of a new Nokia. Just as well, my cell phone graveyard commonly known as my junk drawer, has a few that I can trade in, and just maybe they will pay for my new Nokia upgrade then. :)
