Nokia E7 unboxing and first impressions

Last week I received a package from the guys over at WomWorldNokia, containing the Nokia E7.

I’ve been waiting for this unit for some time now, ever since it was announced I planned on even purchasing the E7, but its price and the somewhat negative reviews it was receiving made me rethink if it would be “a good deal” for me.

Now that I have have finally got my hands on one, I’ll use it and abuse it, and try to understand what is causing all these “mixed feelings” amongst reviewers.

Here are a couple of unboxing pictures of the device:

Inside the small blue eco friendly box you will find the following:

- Nokia E7
- AC-10x 1200mAh Wall Carger (Uk model, WomWorld guys where kind enough to send in an adapter for non-UK plugs! [Thanks for that guys;)] )
- CA-179 Data cable
- CA-157 USB-OTG cable
- CA-156 Mini–HDMI to HDMI cable
- WS-205 Wired Headset

Now lets take a look at my first impressions:

The built quality of the device is awesome, this is probably the best phone I’ve ever held up to now. I’ll be honest until recently, I always said I’d never use a phone above 3,7″, so I am a little sceptical on the fact that this device has a 4″ display, but hey let’s see what develops over the following two weeks.

Special note for the sliding mechanism:

As some of you may remember, there where good and bad opinions about the sliding mechanism’s roughness, even a video with a (somewhat exaggerated) girl trying to open it for an entire minute, but I can say with all fairness that, for now, it looks like it isn’t neither rough neither loose, probably couldn’t be better, but I’ll give an exaustive look at this particular point.

For now I’ll leave you with this, but be sure to keep checking in here at Nokia-News.com for the complete review (and that exaustive look at the sliding mechanism)!
