Since the begining of this year, we’ve been hearing about the rumoured Nokia T7-00 smartphone, first Slashgear.com reported having seen the device mentioned on the Nokia Ovi Publisher tools, then PCPop.com bought us a number of leaked pictures of the device.
From the pictures one could see the similiarity of the Nokia T-700 with the current Nokia N8 smartphone but with some clear visible differences making this a customised version of the N8 presumably for the Chinese market – device branded with the China Mobile Logo on the front. Here are those differences:
1. 8 MP Camera with Dual-LED (unclear if this is AF or EDoF)
2. MicroUSB Port Changes moved from the Left to the top replacing the HDMI port
3. The raised camera module now lowered – similar to the C7 and X7 models
It was also quite evident from those pictures as well that the device will be porting the Symbian^3 OS. Further specifications and details of the device were sparse and only speculated on by the on-line community over coming months there after.

- Support for Bluetooth, WLAN and GSM / WCDMA / HSDPA
- 700MHz ARM11 Processor
- 3D graphics hardware accelerator, support for OpenGL 2.0, providing a better 3D gaming experience
In Was only in June of this year that- Nokia Conversations China put an end to these rumours and announced two new devices to be lauched exclusively on China Mobile later this year, one of these being the T7-00 together with the 702T which is the customised version of the Nokia E6. What they did not elaborate on was specifications of these two devices so we still have no confirmation on that.
Now the device has appeared on the Nokia Ovi Store recently – Engadget ES reported earlier on today that the device could possibly be an unannounced MeeGo device, but we all know this is not possible as Stephen Elop – CEO Nokia has made it quite clear that the N9 will be the first and last MeeGo device to be commercialised by Nokia and and any way, Nokia Conversations China reported the device will be released with the latest Symbian OS – and by the picture on the Ovi Store today – seems it will be the latest Symbian Anna update.
What remains now to be seen is when this device will be launched, clearly soon by it’s appearance on the Ovi Store site and also confirmation on the model as it clearly says T7-00 and as we all know, Nokia recently dropped the X-C-E and N branding to take up the traditional numbering system on all new devices being launched later this year.
Interesting times lie ahead indeed and it sure is nice to see Nokia responding to the market by releasing customised models for different regions around the globe.

Seems the Gods are smiling on us today – the Nokia T7-00 official specs and 702T are out and can be found over at the Nokia Devloper Site under the Devices Details section Impressive specs indeed and as mentioned earlier the devices will be for the Chinese markets but as yet no release date has been mentioned.
