On a number of occasions over the last couple of months, we have seen leaked information on line about the Nokia X7 Symbian^3 Smartphone. The first time the device appeared on a website was back in November last year where it was seen showcasing the popular game Need For Speed Shift. Earlier this year the Nokia X7 was due to be launched in the US but suddenly withdrawn at last minute, without any explanation from Nokia.
Yesterday, the X7 once again surfaced, this time on two occasions, the first was when a number of us bloggers received a subscription email from Nokia UK’s YouTube channel alerting us of two new videos that had been uploaded onto their Official YouTube channel – one was the Nokia X7 and the other, the Nokia E6. These videos were subsequently changed to private viewing status and no one was able to view them.
The second occasion was when, by some fluke chance, mobile network Three UK uploaded a video by Brendan Arndt – Product Manager at Three UK, presenting the Nokia X7 which supposedly is due to be released by them soon. The video was live for less than an hour before being changed to private viewing only, surely a slip by the marketing guys over at 3 UK, but was sufficient time for many enthusiasts out there to download the video and re-upload onto YouTube to be shared.
This is not the first time that Network Three have slipped up, just last month the well known website – Engadget came across another leak from 3 UK where the existence and possibility of the X7 coming to Network 3 UK, was once again mentioned.
So what do we know about this device?? Well from the leaks and video below, we know the following:
1. Has an 8MP, Auto Focus with digital Zoom camera with a dual LED flash
2. HDMI Port, Bluetooth 3.0, 16GB memory and 720pixel HD video recording capabilities
3. From the video we see the X7 will come out to 3 UK with the new PR2.0 FW which makes it a lot faster, and porting the new refreshed Icons. We can also see the long awaited virtual potrait QWERTY Keyboard being featured.
4. There is a brand new browser and from what Brendan says – three times faster than the current one in Symbian^3 devices.
5. CBD 4″ AMOLED display and from what we can see in the video, the visibility of the UI in sunlight is extremely good.
Let’s take a look at the sneak preview from 3 UK:
Great features and looks promising, the only thing that I am not convinced about and until I see an official announcement – is the auto focus feature, currently the information so far neither confirms or denies that it actually will be part of the X7 features, so would not get to excited just yet.

Just a quick heads up that Three UK today officially confirmed that the Nokia X7 is going to be available to their customers in the coming weeks, this following news from Nokia – Finland, who also announced the official launch of the new Nokia E6 and X7 earlier today.
