A couple of days ago I was going through an old shoe box that I have in my cupboard in the study, this box contains over two hundred photographs of memories going back to the 60’s. You see, in my days we had to resort to developing ones photographs and keeping the developed film stored away safely in case we needed to print more pictures for friends or family and if you wanted to share with them, you had to send them the pictures by post which sometimes took weeks to reach the destinations overseas
But hey, it worked at the time and was always nice to receive some as well and see what others were up to. What about the old 8mm films, any of you remember those? I still have some and in BLACK and WHITE, just don’t have the projector anymore and now struggling to find a place that will convert them to digital format.
Anyway, I am just glad that I have these pictures and films because they are very precious to me – afterall they are a record of my life’s journey from the beginning, even though they are on paper and 8mm film reels. Now a days we are very fortunate to have the internet on which we can now share instantly with friends and family our pictures and videos, no more post and long waits to reach their destinations, even more we can now take a picture or film a video on our mobile devices and send them via mobile internet to social network sites instantaneously – WOW, how great is that??
I have tried a few of these share sites over the last few months, but the one that stands out the most to me, and not because I am a Nokia enthusiast, is the Nokia Ovi Share on line service.
Let me tell you a little about Ovi Share, it just makes it so easy for one to share ones photos and videos for all to see.
Your videos and photos can all be uploaded to Ovi Share directly from your mobile device (you will have to have a data plan on your mobile service for this) or computer, making it simple for other people to see them. You can share link, or tag content for others to find it. If you have your own website or blog, you can even embed a slideshow of your pictures or streaming directly from Ovi.
If you worried your media will might get muddled-up in the storage? Don’t be because Ovi Share is super-organised, enabling you to create a clear sense of order via easy-to-use albums for specific content and tagging. I highly recommend it and after all – its GRATIS and SAFE to use.
Now it’s time for me to get back to my old shoe box, because I am going to start digitalizing all my old pics and upload them onto Ovi Share. OMG there are just so many, oh that’s right – didn’t I mention it doesn’t matter because the service has UNLIMITED STORAGE SPACE – double WOW
